General Rules
1. No driver, car owner, or mechanic shall have any claim for damages, expenses, or otherwise against the track or any of its officials.
2. Drivers, car owners and mechanics must be at least 14 years old. Drivers under 18 years of age must have a signed parental consent form prior to competition.
3. Drivers and owners assume responsibility for their pit crews in every respect. If a crew member starts trouble, the driver, the car owner, car, and crew can be disqualified, suspended, or fined. Anyone in a pit area other than their own will be considered at fault if a disturbance occurs. Any abusive or profane language or obscene gestures from anyone will result in a $100.00 fine and/or suspension.
4. The track may refuse to accept entry of any car, car owner, driver, or crew member.
5. Anyone receiving injuries at the track must report it to a track official before leaving the speedway.
6. The decision of the track officials on interpretation of the rules, scoring, flagging, and race procedures will be final.
7. After the race begins, the flagman is in full race control and their decision will be upheld.
8. No one is allowed to ride in any car with a driver at any time.
9. Driver, car owner, and crews must be familiar with the official flag rules.
10. In the event that two cars cross the finish line at the same time, the car closer to the infield can be determined the winner.
11. No one can receive assistance from another car during the last lap of the race.
12. No working on cars on the track at any time. Cars will be penalized one lap for breaking this rule.
13. All races will be staged in designated areas. Any car not in position will tag to the end of the field for that race.
14. In the event that a race is stopped after the first lap, the car or cars for which the race was stopped will be put in the rear. Lineup will be made from the previous lap. Anyone pulling out and intentionally causing a caution will be put in the rear of the field.
15. Drivers cannot move up or down to another division without permission from track officials.
16. No car can run in TWO divisions in one night {without track permission and paying gate fee twice for that car.
17. Any driver or crew member drinking alcoholic beverages or using drugs during the race program will be subject to fine or suspension.
18. Any person found with a weapon on his/her person or in his or her possession is subject to fine or suspension.
19. A protest can only be made by a driver within 5 minutes of reaching the scales.
20. There will be no arguing with track officials on the night of the race. Any problems will be addressed on Monday.
21. Rough driving will be dealt with through fines or disqualification of a car or driver.
22. A car bringing out the caution three times unassisted will be put in the pits. Anyone not obeying the black flag may be fined and/or suspended. First time will result in a $250.00 fine and forfeiture of all winnings for that event. Any further infractions may result in suspension and fines to be determined by the track officials.
23. All rules must be obeyed the first time you race. There is no grace period. Please read all rules before racing.
24. No crew member will work on the car while on the track EXCEPT under red flag conditions during special events. Flagman will advise the participants when this will be allowed during the drivers meeting prior to the event. (One crew member only)
25. Under cautions track officials may inspect sheet metal for tire rub only. No track official will work on any racecar during the racing event.
26. No direct drives in any division.
27. Any driver getting out of the car on the track will go to the pits and be disqualified for that race.
28. No alcohol additives or nitrous oxide systems allowed.
29. Drivers with flat tires get 2 caution laps providing they enter the pit unassited.
30. All vehicles entering track property are subject to inspection by track officials for stowaways. Any teams or vehicles caught will be barred for the night.
31. Raceivers are mandatory for all events, drivers must have a raceiver in their heat race or the driver will have to start in the rear of the feature event. ALL drivers must have raceivers to run the feature event.
Safety Rules
1. Full-face helmets and complete fire suits are mandatory.
2. Roll cages are mandatory and must have a minimum of 3 bars in the driver’s door.
3. A full window net is mandatory. (Except SLM)
4. A full cell is mandatory in all divisions.
5. A 5-point racing harness is mandatory.
6. A windshield bar is mandatory (min 2).
7. A fire extinguisher, with a gauge, must be mounted in a quick release harness in reach of the driver.
8. Scatter shield is recommended (minimum ¼'' steel plate sides).
9. The battery must be mounted outside the driver’s compartment or in an enclosed, bolted down, metal box.
10. All fuel lines must be under the car or encased in tubing.
11. The ballast needs to be painted white and have the car # engraved and be securely mounted. * Any item not specified above must be approved beforehand or it will be deemed illegal.
Protest Rules
1. Protest fees are $350.00 for top side and $700.00 for complete engine. Track will keep $150.00. If car protested is declared illegal or refuses protest, the driver is responsible for the fine to be paid to the track. Anyone refusing to pay said fine will be banned from competition until said fine is paid in full.
2. There will be a 45 minute cool down time for protested cars.
3. Protest can only be made by the driver (within 5 minutes of reaching the scales).
4. All visual protest must be made before the race begins (except by track officials when they deem it necessary). There will be a $50.00 fee for visual protests.
5. Only the top three cars can be protested. (4th-3rd, 3rd-2nd, 2nd-1st)
6. Any other rules infraction will be dealt with by track officials.
7. Once tear down is complete, only one person from the protest car and one person submitting the protest will be allowed in the tech area with the tech man.
The track has the right to check any car at any time during the racing program.
Definitions and Terms used within the general rules as well as the individual class rules will be as follows:
Stock production- parts produced by the original vehicle manufacturer for use on their specific line of vehicles in mass production.
OEM- original equipment manufacturer.
Stock replacement (stock type) - parts produced by aftermarket manufacturers that have the same general specifications as the OEM.
Aftermarket- parts that are not OEM.
Competition Rule
Clary's Speedway reserves the right to change and/or implement any rule during the racing season that is needed to level the competition in any class.
If you come to race at Clary's and are from another track, bring a copy of your home track rules with you when you come. The tech man will assess your rules and place you in the class closest to what you would normally run. Weight penalties may be added for differences in rules.
Fines and Suspensions
Anyone not following the rules set forth is subject to fines and/or suspension based upon the seriousness of the offense. Track management will review each infraction and determine the action to be taken. Minimum fines will start at $100.00 and increase based on the seriousness of the infraction.
