Schedule Update
Written by RaceJunkie
Wednesday, 23 July 2008
RWP is pleased to announce that following an extensive strategic planning meeting, the following decisions have been reached. Decisions were based upon survival of the track, helping all the drivers continue racing, encouraging more drivers to participate, and last, but not least give the fans the most value possible for their entertainment dollar. RWP is committed to Clary’s Speedway - present and future, the 2009 racing season will be here before we know it!

The racing program for July 26, 2008 will be as follows:
NB SUPER Late Models, Super Street, Pure Stock V-8, Super Stock 4 and Mini-stock 4.

The racing program for August 2, 2008 will be as follows:
Limited Late Model, Super Street, Pure Stock V-8, Super Stock 4 and Mini-stock 4.

The racing program for August 9, 2008 will be as follows:
NB SUPER Late Models, Super Street, Pure Stock V-8, Super Stock 4 and Mini-stock 4.

Clary’s Speedway will be closed on August 16, 2008

The racing program for August 23, 2008 will be as follows:
NB SUPER Late Models, Super Street, Pure Stock V-8, Super Stock 4 and Mini-stock 4.

We feel the impact of the economy as does our drivers and fans; therefore, we have restructured our purse to encourage more driver participation – by paying higher amounts down the line.

Effective immediately, the purse has been restructured see purse page

This purse represents a total increase of $485.00

NB SLM entry fee will remain at $100 and LLM will be $50.

Also to help the racing family, pit admission will be $25 with children under 10 free. Please make sure that children remain with an adult at all times.

Driver payouts will be available as soon as possible after each class’s feature is completed. This will shorten the line at the payout window and allow families or those that have towed for some distance to depart more timely.

Three additional rules will be implemented. They are as follows:

1.) Any car involved in 3 cautions will be black flagged. Involved means contact.
2.) The track will keep first place money for any class that starts 7 cars or less.
3.) Safety equipment will be required in all divisions except junkyard. Safety equipment is strongly encouraged in junkyard also!

The rain out policy will be:
If less than half of the features are run and the show is cancelled due to rain, rain check will be issued at the gate. An announcement will be made as to when those rain checks will be honored. LLM rain outs will be honored on the next regular LLM show. i.e. if July 26 rains out, those rain checks will be honored on August 9. Failure to present a rain check will result in having to pay full admission price. NO REFUNDS.

We trust that you will find that these changes are positive, as we have carefully considered the needs of the drivers, fans and the longevity of Clary’s Speedway. Again, we are committed to providing a venue where the fans can see some of the best dirt track racing and that drivers will have a stable track to run at in 2008 and beyond.

We thank all the drivers, fans and sponsors that have supported RWP and Clary’s Speedway thus far in 2008 and hope that all will continue.

Again, THANK YOU!

Nash Brick and Clary's Speedway Team Up for 2008 Season
Written by Marcia Reed

Press Release  - For Immediate ReleaseApril 21, 2008
Ita, North Carolina

Raceway Promotions of Clary’s Speedway and Nash Brick Company are pleased to announce a renewed marketing association to promote racing at the “Ring of Fire” in Brinkleyville, NC.

As a part of this agreement between Clary’s Promoters and Nash Brick, the Super Late Model Division will again be advertised as the “Nash Brick Super Late Model Division.”

Clary’s Speedway is a 3/10 mile high banked clay oval track located in Brinkleyville, North Carolina.  Racing five divisions most Saturday nights – gates open at 3:00 and drivers meeting starts at 5:30.

“Since we really enjoyed our relationship with the track last year, it was an easy decision to team with Clary’s and RWP this year” said Executive Vice-President Don Bowden.  “Just as Nash Brick provides the superior exterior cladding of choice, Clary’s “Ring of Fire” provides the superior speedway of choice.  We have supported this track in a variety of ways; we stepped up our support last year and look forward to stepping up again this year.”

“Clary’s Speedway looks forward to working with Nash Brick on promotions and advertising endeavors with the Nash Brick Super Late Models and with some of the other classes.” said RWP President Jonathan Dunlow.  “We expect to announce soon that plans are underway for a National Championship race to be held near the end of the season.”

“Since we use that same red clay as Clary’s racing surface in our ‘Ring of Fire’ to produce the best brick manufactured in eastern North Carolina, we will again be providing the unique, sculpted brick trophies to the feature winners of the Nash Brick Super Late Models.” said Jeff Wyers Vice-President of Operations for Nash Brick Company.  “We will fire these clay trophies in our ‘Ring of Fire’ to over 2,000 degrees with sawdust - expecting that the racing for the brick will be just as hot as our kiln!”

“The Brick trophy has become very popular,” said Dunlow, “We have had calls from several race teams wanting to know if we would be doing the brick trophy again this year, the answer is yes!”  “You can race for a clock in Martinsville, a guitar in Nashville, but the only place you can get ‘bricked’ is Clary’s Speedway!” added Bowden. More information can be found at www.clarysspeedway.com or www.localracechat.com

Nash Brick started in Rocky Mount in 1902.  In 1956 it relocated to its present location in Ita, North Carolina – which is about 8 miles south of Clary’s speedway.  The privately owned company employees 55 people and produces over 30 million bricks per year.  “Our employees work hard to produce an excellent long lasting exterior product for your home” said Bowden. Nash Brick sells face brick locally to contractors, builders and to the general public from their local sales office and internationally through a distributor network.  More information on product selection and sales locations can be found on their website, www.nashbrick.com
